Caffeine is the most widely-used stimulant in the world. It's a drug, but it's also a natural substance found in plants like coffee and tea. In fact, caffeine is one of the most consumed substances in America. So how does it affect your body? Let's take a look at what caffeine can do to you!

Caffeine can help you stay awake and alert, which is useful if you're working under pressure or driving long distances. It can also help improve your focus, energy levels, and motivation—all things that are handy in a situation requiring high-intensity focus, like a presentation or an exam.

Fun fact: caffeine doesn't actually give you energy; it just informs your body not to sleep. 

Risks of drinking too much caffeine

But there's a downside to drinking too much coffee. Caffeine has been shown to cause anxiety, increase blood pressure, disturb sleep patterns (leading to fatigue), cause headaches (that might interfere with concentration), and even make people feel jittery or irritable around other people who aren't drinking caffeinated drinks themselves!

If you are sensitive to caffeine, you may experience some of the above. If so, it is best to limit your consumption of caffeine on days that you may feel slightly anxious or overwhelmed. There are many great decaf options. 

Overall, caffeine is a great way to kick-start your day. It can give you more energy, help you focus better on tasks at hand and even improve athletic performance. 

However, too much of it can also have some negative effects like insomnia or headaches in some people, so if this happens regularly, then maybe it's time to cut back on your daily dose!
